I wonder if kids these days are even allowed to try to swing as high as they can and then jump to see how far away from the swing they go.

No ’Ooooooowwww!" so he must have stuck the landing.

Seen the nearly successful full circle twice. Both times the kid made it beyond the cross-bar before losing momentum and coming straight down (fortunately missing the cross-bar). Both were ok, though one left the play area in an ambulance.

When I was a kid I used to think up all kinds of gymnastic moves to do while flying through the air after jumping off the swing. The “airplane”, the “punching bag”, the “statue of liberty” and all kinds of others. The “headfirst dive into the ground” was frowned upon…….

…As Charlie Brown lands in the Kite-Eating Tree and is never seen again…

The swing set could be a tad too close to some object or other, then maybe Chuck just jumped out.

When I was almost 7 years old a kid was swinging high and jumped out. The swing flew back and hit my head. Got a fractured skull and now have a metal plate in the right side of my skull!
