Yes, it might be 100% solid state, if not someone in the boarding house will have to run out to the local drug store, Radio Shack or TV repair store to test one of the vacuum tubes and replace it. I remember my Dad doing that a few times at the Eckerd Drug store or Radio Shack back in the early ’70s for the old console TV in the living room. I remember how I thought it was so high tech when he replaced that with a model from Sears that actually had a remote to go along with the cable TV we just got with all 13 or 14 glorious channels in 1976.
