Back in the day, I was in a computer store and some poor lady was looking for a chip for her printer. Long before USB, plug and play. You had to get a specific interface chip for your printer. She was complaining to the sales clerk that her husband had talked her into getting a computer as it would be easier than a typewriter. While she’s running around to get it to work he was just napping. She wanted to smash him with the computer!!!
Reminds me of the “early days”. I was in on the transition from electronic (“memory”) typewriters, to word processors, to microcomputers. Our motto: “It ain’t no joke, when your Wang is broke.” Back when a basic desktop cost 4 grand. I honestly remember wondering why anyone would need 10 Megabytes of storage…
