I generally like the comic, but this one jumps the shark in the third panel. Opus isn’t a human being, knows it full well, and is out of character to say that.
Never trust a man who wears a bow tie. In college I learned that a bow tie is a symbol of arrogance as every professor that I had who wore bow ties were usually the most self- opinionated but worst of any.
Opus is definitely a bow tie kind of guy. He needs to buy a whole wardrobe of bow ties, bow ties for every occasion, black, red, blue, striped, polka dotted, illuminated! What a guy with a bow tie!
In hospitals and medical schools, infectious disease docs traditionally wore bow ties because of the concern that a loose necktie would be more likely to be contaminated and spread nosocomial infections.
