What probably happened with Mr. Haupt’s copy, was, that as CBS’ Paley Center ‘restored’ it, a copy was built on a hard drive, from which a DVD copy was made. The Paley Center is named after long-time CBS president William Paley. Of course, CBS neglected to tell Mr. Haupt about this, hence the low-ball offer.
