I’m glad I never used these cancer machines.

I’m a late boomer (’54), but never had this experience. They always used the old fashion slide meter.

Getting to see my feet in the machine was about the only up side to shoe shopping.

Yeah, these days we just give ’em cell phones so they can go quickly when they start texting and driving….

I can only remember doing it once. I’m 66.

I’m 65 and I only remember this machine from a TV show about restoring old stuff. (American Restorations on “History”)

I would stop and the salesman would let me look at my feet and that was in the late 1930’s. I also had 5 children later like in the 50’s Great-Great Gran’ma Joan!

I remember my father got hold of one of those machines. We had it down in the basement for years. I have no idea what happened to it.

There was far more risk to people who worked in the store than anyone using the flouroscopes – unless you were addicted and used them 8 hours a day for 20 years.

I hope it’s safe too mam.

If I remember correctly, they found a x-ray machine still in a shoe store (although I don’t think it was being used) in the 1980’s. I believe it was in Tennessee.

I actually remember these, with my Mom looking at my feet through the viewfinder.I’m quickly closing the gap on 70 now; no cancerous toes…

…yet!

I’m 67, and I remember the store having one, but it was just occupying space, never used.

Ahh, the 50s… when radiation was our friend.
