There sure is no sense talking to his teammates when it comes to pop-flies landing past them.
Well, it’s no mystery why Charlie Brown gets so much abuse. He can’t be stern enough.
Just put your glove down a few feet behind you. They seem to be hitting the ball to the exact same place repeatedly.
There is no crying in baseball, Snoopy!
Snoopy is good…
Joke:Why is Snoopy so tired? It was a dark and stormy night.
CB must be improving. Usually it’s a line drive through the pitcher.
This reminds me of another strip where Charlie Brown yelled at Snoopy for striking out (“You didn’t even swing. That’s going to cost you half your supper tonight!”), then relented after Snoopy started crying.
[Charlie Brown puts hand to head] What does a stroke feel like?
Peppermint Patty must not have seen this short stop’s performance today to remain impressed.
That is what you get for fielding a dog. Snoopy should stomp off angrily like he did that other time.
Good strip.
Good ol’ Wishy-Washy Charlie Brown
Another panel would show Charlie Brown saying " Oh, Good Grief!"

Guess the assumption behind the “infield-fly rule” doesn’t apply to this team.
He’s not crying because you hurt his feelings, he’s crying because you woke him up.
Baseball, otherwise known as 4 minutes of excitement spread over 4 hours of boredom…
