As a teacher, I LOVE having students like this one. My colleagues think I’m nuts, but more often than not I manage to help them do well without compromising any of their enthusiasm and uniqueness. The parents are probably right – he likely gets bored in a class that moves too slowly for his mind. The issue is one of finding the right way to challenge him so that he channels his energy more productively.

He looks like he has a promising career in gymnastics or the circus. Or perhaps one of those Stupidest Humans tv shows.
