Man: Well, as your resume and work samples show, you're clearly a very good writer. Woman: Thank you. Man: And as your profanity laced Facebook page shows, you're clearly psychotic.
It seems odd to me that someone would willingly place their personal information up to the scrutiny of millions of total strangers. First. why would someone be so egotistical as to actually believe that their information is interesting enough to warrant scrutiny in the first place? Secondly, the world is dangerous enough without putting out a flashing neon sign to attract I.D. thieves, bank hackers, stalkers etc., etc….

This is one of the main reasons I do not have a facebook page. Employers are now looking at these even if you are already employed.
Personally what I dread is when potential employers start asking for your facebook page, and if you tell them you don’t have one, ask why not?

Or, people could just have a private facebook page. You’re allowed to do that, you know. It’s one checkbox.

They have advantages? Personally I don’t see any reason to bother, all of my friends are people I’ve actually met.
