The CIA’s inspector general has accidentally deleted its only copy of a controversial Senate report about the agency’s history of brutal interrogation techniques, opening a new front in the long battle over the document.
The CIA Waterboarded the Wrong Man 83 Times in 1 Month
George W. Bush would use his case to justify the CIA’s “enhanced interrogation program,” claiming that “he had run a terrorist camp in Afghanistan where some of the 9/11 hijackers trained” and that “he helped smuggle al-Qaeda leaders out of Afghanistan” so they would not be captured by US military forces.None of it was true.
Trump said that he would “immediately” resume waterboarding and other techniques that are “much worse” because the United States is facing a barbaric enemy.
“The committee finds, based on a review of CIA interrogation records, that the use of the CIA’s enhanced interrogation techniques was not an effective means of obtaining accurate information or gaining detainee cooperation,” the report concludes.
“Enhanced interrogation techniques,” such as beatings, solitary confinement and waterboarding — simulated drowning that induced convulsions and vomiting — failed to elicit intelligence to foil terror plots, the committee found.
Examples of the techniques’ failure involve some of the highest-profile terrorists in U.S. custody. The summary of the committee’s 6,000-page report repeatedly refutes CIA and administration statements that harsh measures saved innocent lives.
Righties usually say “it’s just like taking a shower”, but they don’t seem to want to try it themselves. Or explain how a shower will get actionable intelligence.
When my son graduated from SERE school, which included waterboarding experience, they told them a high percentage would have PTSD, just from the training. OUR folks go through this to be able to cope if captured, as in what they do to them in the training may just be worse!
I’d love to have a couple hours with Trump, Cheney, Rove, Rice, Feith, and a few others, just to give them a taste for what I saw in ’Nam “interviews”. Break would be understatement.

The lines would go faster, people, if you would go online to find out what you can put in your carry on.
