Dad: Sounds like the neighbors' kid is having band practice again.
Mom: I think we need to go over and address this as a family.
Mom and Dad: Turn it up!!
There was a guy on our street who was a musician. Started out with the accordion, then tried the trumpet and sax. Finally got a guitar and became pretty good with it. We’d hang out when he and his band practiced at his house. A few years later I was watching his band on MTV and at sold out arenas.
One time, when I was in grade school, the teenager who lived next door was practicing his clarinet and the squeaks got to be so annoying that I went over and yelled at him to shut up, right in front of my parents. Thankfully, my parents DID NOT like that at all and made me go over and apologize to him, and rightfully so, since now I realize that no musician should be forced to stop playing their music, especially if they’re just starting out and need the practice that’s going to make them great, one day.

They actually like it? How odd (even for the neighbors seeing their neighbors’ approval).

On several occasions I’ve had neighbours who were good musicians. I used to open the window or go outside to listen.

When my neighbor practices his bagpipe, thoughts of violence occur to most of the neighborhood. Coincidence?

The music was annoying if made by the kids, but ok if made by adults? Or. did they chicken out?
