Winslow’s got it right. The choices are insulting. Can’t stand either of them. Write-in Cruz!

Okay Carmen, it’s the voting rules that are problem. First off, you should put an independent non-partisan commission in charge of running all elections. It would be funded thru public monies alone. Districts would be determined as compactly as possible by population and geographical factors only (there are existing alogrithms) Voting would be made mandatory and a paid holiday declared, unless you put on weekends. Early and by mail voting would be encouraged. Registration maybe at birth? Also a limited time period for campaigning with mandated time on TV networks for real debates (you know here’s a position, one supports and one opposes). And NO private money for advertising or PACs allowed in the process! Then, maybe only then you would start to get a better choice of candidates and better governance for whole of the nation. Winslow is very right here and we should honor that sacrifice.

If we didn’t have so much vote-shaming going on, there could be majorities of people voting third-party… and that third-party candidate could actually win.

The flaw in Darsan’s proposal is his mindless faith in the goodness and competence of bureaucrats. Democrats always think mini-dictators make everything better. It would only be worse.

Actually, Carmen, this year a lot of red states are swing states. I even heard Georgia is a toss-up now!
