I understand that this is a metaphor for life – to stay disciplined, to stay mentally, spiritually and physically fit, alert, aware. As we know, 99% of us will not need to engage in physical conflict – swords, fists, kicks etc…. So why train w Kung Fu, or Yoga, or CrossFit, or Tai Ch, or weight training, or triathlon training etc? (Living in Boulder, and doing massage therapy for 35 yrs, I know ALL about these cultures…!) …. Anyway, it’s a very excellent metaphor for staying physically / mentally / spiritually fit —I believe in sweating! But I do not know if your readership will get the non physical attributes of your comic strip. People are very literal (like Drax the Destroyer in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’) and often just don’t get metaphor & multiple meanings of stories. What is the ‘battle’ ? here does it take place? (Inside us?) ….. That said - Kudos 2 U, & keep up the great work, Gavin. You rock!

Seek Peace? Prepare for War.That is why we train.Do it so many times it becomes boring muscle reflex. When you find your self in combat….that muscle reflex remembers when your brain cannot think.

@Night-Gaunt – I accidentally left a buddy of mine on the floor of the local mall after he ran up and grabbed my shoulder from behind. He thought it would be funny, not so much when reflex drove my elbow into his midsection. He rethinks his actions now.
