    When an uncle of mine was young and needed to walk across a field with a serious chigger infestation, he out kerosene on his socks and shoes as a repellent. It worked, but he got chemical burns

    I am a retired airline mechanic. I have bee totally saturated with jet fuel, which is basically kerosene. My entire body became one huge blister. Hurt like hell.

    we used to wash our grease covered hands with gasoline. Leaded gasoline. Never gave me no Drain Bamage.

    Warning, annoying math geek logic incoming: SPF is actually a divisor for how much radiation reaches your skin (i.e. with SPF 20 you get 5%, 30 you get 3.3%, 50 you get 2%, etc.). So ignoring that direct sun is unlikely to ignite the fuel, the SPF should be a positive decimal less than one, such as .002)
