Well; not one of my favorite movies. Sorry, Nighthawks; not your fault – your adaption is ingenious.

I like “Bark Passage” better. Or “Basrina”.

There was something I forgot to say when I posted earlier….

Sigh… I didn’t think so.

It’ll come to me… in a few days.

This wasn’t it…. but I also meant to say…

Last night I said (on Sunday’s strip) that 108°F had been predicted here for Sunday…

but both the previous days’ predictions had been exceeded.

Well… I didn’t check my weather app till 4:30 pm…

it’s usually, but not always, a degree or three hotter, an hour before that.

We’re lucky, in that our temps are pretty volatile… the absolute high only lasts for about an hour, then starts to fall a bit.

Anyway, at 4:30 pm it was 111° F! and I don’t know whether that was the peak.

The weird thing is, while displaying the current temperature as 111°, the very same screen said the day’s High would be 109°. Huh?

The only way to see past temperatures is on the chart of the whole month… which is now saying that Sunday’s high was 109°.

That was their prediction and they’re sticking by it, I presume.

Very unusually for here, it was also still 80° at midnight. (I know… I hear those violins.)

Still, who knows… all I can say is… it’s too hot.

Now we have 102° expected for Monday, 100° for Tuesday… but by Thursday it’s supposed to slide down to a nice comfortable 85-ish. Whew!

Of course, nobody has air conditioning around here cos we “never” need it.

Yes, I really enjoyed the story. But, but, but where is the Maltese Basset???

I had hopes that Dethany would show up with Dick Tracy. Although, if she had shown up, Sam Basset would have fallen in love with her and would have forgotten all about Miss Behave, who would have escaped.

Bob, way up at the very top of this page, is at work on his intended magnum opus. He calls it Mondo Cane. Don’t worry about telling him the title has already been taken. He’ll never have to concern himself with that.
