Ah! Gary Oldman! He and Alan Rickman are my two favorite villains-you-love-to-hate.

I hadn’t really thought about it, but Gary Oldman has been in a lot of movies in many different situations and has played them ALL superbly! HE certainly cannot be “type-cast”! Perhaps the future “Jack Nicholson”?

OK, FUNG1, so long as Mr. Oldman doesn’t end up looking like Jack Nicholson does now.

Ushindi: Alan Rickman is equally wonderful when he’s not playing a villain. Try watching BlowDry.

Alan Rickman also played a pretty decent guy in Snow Cake.

One of the nastiest characters that I ever saw Gary Oldman play was in the movie True Romance.. (Great cast too.)

Yes, I agree - they are BOTH very versatile actors - did any of you see Alan Rickman in the comedy “Galaxy Quest”? Funny! Or Oldman in “Nobody’s Baby”? Great.

However, I am stating MY opinion, and that is they are MY two villains-you-love-to hate.

(And I have “True Romance” in my collection, jtp. Quentin Tarantino’s first major screenplay, but he didn’t get to direct - Tony Scott did.)

I think James Gandolfini’s performance in True Romance must have played a big part in him being cast as Tony Soprano a few years later.
