I am reminded of a time when I was very young and taking a tour of the chocolate factory at Ghirardelli Square in San Francisco. The tour guide explained to us that we were not just smelling the chocolate, but that little bits of chocolate were actually being inhaled and that is part of how our sense of smell works. Plug your nose and you cannot smell anything. Remember that when you smell “dairy air.”

See also, Tillamook, Oregon. Also known for having the Coast Guard patrolling its roads on occasion.
