It’s not a curtain, we can see through it — and in panel four we can see something very large inside. So it’s a cage of some sort (force field? light?), and the something inside is probably a very dangerous malform.
That looks like a summoning ring, like what was being used to summon Greed in the previous storyarc…so this raises some questions for me. As I understand it, only a wizard would have the training and ability to perform a summoning. Up to now, Fairbairn’s been using ol’ Ben there as her resident wizard to perform such things, but obviously Ben’s not the one to set up THIS summoning…so who did? Who else in the Lamplight Company is capable of magic? Is it Fairbairn herself?
