I take my older boxer out for walks on my mobility scooter. When she gets tired, I have her sit on my lap and off we go!

Probably not going to try this with our daughter’s pup, Elvis! He’s a 120 pound Chesapeake…

Many years ago, during our Bohemian, first-married days, my husband and I had to trek through calf-deep snow to a gas-station a good mile away for car-repair stuff. We thought we were doing our little terrier a favor by including her on our “adventure”. Then I noticed, when we were almost there, that there was blood on the snow. The cold snow was too much for her paws. So up she came, and I carried her most of a mile, through the snow, back home while hubby continued on our mission. No hero me. I should have noticed sooner, poor baby!

Look at the tip of Rover’s tail in the last panel! Dogs always seem a little embarrassed at such attentions, no matter how much they appreciate them. But there was a “The Other Coast” in which one of the dogs, observing a human clear eye buggers from their furry friend’s face, “Wow! Now THAT’s love!” Yes. Yes, it is; and that’s just the way it is ’twixt humans and dogs (or oughta be, anyway!)

Any one that loves their pet would do this, unless the pet is too big. This id such a sweet strip and I love it on several levels.

This strip is one of three I love: “Red & Rover”, “The Other Coast”, and “Today’s Dogg.”I do love cats, but dogs are my passion – especially Pit Bulls, the gentlest dog I know…
