I was thinking more about the fact she has survived this long in the workplace. Age discrimination comes after us all, male or female, but with women, it sometimes strikes sooner – when women began to show their age.
I worked at Wal-Mart for six years back in the ‘90s. Then I started working at USPS, where I just changed jobs after three years. Starting next Saturday, I will be processing mail for changes of address. I will be able to sit, listen to whatever I want to. And, oh, yes, I won’t have to do customer service over the phone anymore. So I feel for that person who hired you, Mrs. Jensen. I just finished a three-year nightmare myself.
