Rhadamanthus - Some Sunday comics are not carried in their entirety by all newspapers. The first two or three panels are left out, so the main story line is complete without them, and they often are a separate gag but along the same line. This was not a good example of accomodating this as the panels do appear to be out of sequence. There are two separate gags however. See today’s Wizard of Id and Shoe for better examples. Many newspapers pick them up at panel three, and replace panel two with a smaller title panel.
