Boy did Sky King and Sgt. Preston bring back memories. Made me think of my FAVORITE cowboy, Lash Larue. I was a little girl in the early 50’s and all I wanted was a whip, some six shooters and a black cowboy hat! My poor mother almost had a heart attack. Wanted me in lace, crinolines and patent leather Mary Janes. (Got her wish with first granddaughter. A very happy relationship). Thank you all for bringing the fun memories back.

“Ripcord” have anything to do with a really traumatic birth?
parethed about 14 years ago
No…”Ripcord” was a really cheesy ‘60’s TV show about parachutists saving the day…it came on right after “Whirlybirds”…

Don’t forget “Rescue 8”
From an old Flatt and Scruggs song about billboards that had partially torn off:
“You’ll wonder where the yellow went, When you brush your teeth with Tide.”

It came on before Twilight Zone, Paret. And it starred Festus Hagan, (Kene Curtis) of Gunsmoke.
And naturally you missed the joke.
