Found two packs of unused polaroid film in a drawer a few weeks ago. Don’t know whether to see if Ginger could use them (if they are still usable) or to put them on ebay as ‘rare’ items. Well, why not, everything else on ebay is described as ‘rare’ by hopeful vendors.
Ah, the mystery of the lost photo and also of the one that cannot be erased! Photos are never truly erased on a computer, their coding is changed so that they are ignored until the space they took up is claimed by another photo.
On the other hand, we save photos in many different files, the names of which are dreamt up as the spirit takes us; consequently they get spread all over the place and pop up when least expected.
Let’s face the facts - the computer was upheld as the greatest labor-saving device ever and would lead to the paperless office. The reality is that it simply allows us to take on more and more work while we need countless notes on paper so we can find saved photos and files.
Can’t help feeling we have been ‘had on’ big time.

Ginger has wisely used a polaroid camera. Maybe he has doubts about packing his computer and will still have a snapshot of his pets.
JFri: Looks like the graffiti knew about the problem with my machine too. Didn’t quite explode but it fizzed a bit - exit one external drive.
