Yep, Aussies have their own way of getting a message across but Ginger is lucky to get away with just being dumped. If those kangas feel threatened they can do mortal damage by ripping with large claws on their hind feet.
Dry: You have introduced another Aussie icon - Rolf Harris. The version of ‘Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport’ in the link is not the original that swept the world but close enough.
‘Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport’ was introduced in 1959 by an Australian group called Horrie Dargie’s Harlequintet. During a concert by the group in the Williamstown (a Melbourne suburb) Town Hall, Horrie Dargie announced they were going to play a number for the first time that was written by an up and coming young performer and songwriter. He also announced they had invented a new musical instrument for the number.
The number was ‘Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport’, the new instrument was the wobble (or wocka as it is called sometimes) board and the up and coming songwriter and artist was Rolf Harris. Rolf Harris, his song and the wobble board became universal favorites and Horrie Dargie’s Quintet, as they became known, found fame as they toured the world.
The truth of that information is uncontestable, Usfellers was at that concert.
Sometime in the 1960s the group became known simply as The Dargies with the introduction of a female vocalist. A search on Horrie Dargie or The Dargies on online auction rooms should turn up some great music by a fabulous Aussie group. You will need a 33 1/3 or a 45 speed player for the vinyl discs or if you are really lucky, a 78 rpm deck for the hard-to-get numbers.
Rolf Harris is part and parcel of Aussie music today. Listen to any Community Station in Oz and in a 24 hour period you are sure to hear Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport, Two Little Boys, The Court Of King Karektikus or other numbers by Rolf - in Oz he is still in his heyday. On commercial radio his version of Stairway To Heaven has also-rans envious.
Chikuku: Maybe ‘fair dinkum’ will become universally accepted as the final word of someone who tells only the truth and swears they will stick by what they say or can assure they speak only the truth in the first place.

Just a note on the didgeridoo. The fair dinkum didgeridoo is a tree branch approximately as thick as a human forearm. They are not tubes made by human hand; they are the result of action by termites which eat dead timber until daylight can be seen through the wall, thus producing a tube.
Unfortunately, fakes made from bamboo are available in souvenir shops. The true didgeridoo is a natural treasure.
