Sixteen pennies are 1 inch tall when stacked and one foot wide when set side-by-side. Oregon dog Rowdy has a skin condition that left his face looking like a superhero's mask! In 1835, US President Andrew Jackson beat his would-be assassin with a cane when both of his attacker's guns misfired!

Too bad they misfired. The absolute worst to occupy the WH. Up until Jan., 2009, that is.

Now when I want to know how much is an inch and a foot, I’ll use pennies.

Speaking for myself, it’s a shame the assassins missed.

Trump would just hire them and set them on Hilary….

Jackson no doubt considered himself blessed when both pistols aimed a him misfired. Not a common occurrence.

The US Cent (Penny) is .0598 ins in diameter – a stack of 16 would be .9568 ins high. A stack of 17 (1.0166 ins) would be closer, but not such a nice story. Yes the coin’s diameter is .75 ins, so yes, laid side by side that would make a foot. exactly. In a bizarre set of circumstances I suppose that could be useful for my wife who does seem to accumulate copper; me not so much.

Jackson was the first target of a U.S. presidential assassination attempt. There wouldn’t be another until nine presidents later (for whom there were two attempts before the success).

The pennies ‘fact’ is only half correct. 16 US Cents measured 0.896" high (.056" on average). The Standard dimension is .0598" diameter giving .9568" for 16. Still 4% short of 1". Mine are obviously warn. The diameter is .75" giving 12’ length. Mine measured right on.
