Um,If someone asks “do you mind . . .”and you reply “no.”it means that you do not mind..English really is a very simple language. Why do so many get it wrong?
If.. you ask “do you mind if I share your..” If the response is “No” can one not interpret it to mean “I do not mind and you are welcome to share” Conversely a “yes” would mean I do mind so buzz off…
Lynn’s Note – Last year, I met someone with whom I have a lot in common. We have been seeing each other for almost a year, now. My children approve.
And yes, the lady said “No, I do not mind (that you share this couch with me)”
Being an “older” person myself but with a lovely bride to keep me company I am very happy to see other seniors enjoying new company. I can get very lonesome. (BTW married to my bride for 40 years)

When “no” mean “yes”. This could cause problems.

I miss the changing of the leaves here in Southern California but I sure don’t miss having to rake leaves or shovel snow when winter comes.
