Candid on the first panel: priceless. That’ll make a perfect candid in the yearbook. Also did anyone notice that the candid in the main strip is shown in photo form in the first panel?

Oh, boy Nate, you may have given him a heart attack. LITERALLY. You know how old he is?? From the Neolithic Era!!!, whenever that is.

I actually yelled out “HA” when that Ol’ Teecha got caught by good ol’ Nate! You get ‘em Nate!I wish I had had Nate’s courage and initiative when I was his age – I now relive my schooldays as they might have been had I ever come across Lincoln Pierce in the 1950s/60s wot would have been very doubtful in the UK.But it’s nice to dream … especially about Mr. Wilson, who belted me over the lugs for falling asleep in class, and Mrs. Simpson, the music teacher who made me sing like a nightingale just ‘cos my voice had not broken. I’d love to get them back, oh yes!And then there was also Mr. Hunter, my English teacher, who along with Mrs. Dixon, both set me on the path of English, Language and Literature, and they opened up vast worlds to me for which I am eternally grateful.(I think Mr. Hunter also taught Mr. Pastis about “puns” for Mr. Hunter’s puns could be even more savage than Mr. Pastis’)
