    Must be a left over Lesser Auk, resembles a penguin. The Greater Auks were killed off my humans on 3 July 1844, the last two confirmed specimens were killed on Eldey, off the coast of Iceland, which also eliminated the last known breeding attempt. They were the first bird to be called “penguin” till their extinction at the hands of humans.

    Nope. Polar bears don’t get south of James Bay, while the northern-most penguin is stopped at the equator in the Galapogos. And the Humbolt Current is flowing the other way.
