Cleo not much! Want to hit the farmer’s market, the days are getting scarce for that. Doing some exciting things like the laundry my kid brought home! Pulled up all my bean plants last night, getting to be that time of year! Sigh! My life is SO exciting!
Buenos Dias Loco Amigos!
Hijole, Baldo looks scary in the last frame.
Cleo, please kind sir, if is not too late, may I please have some potato cakes, scrambled eggs, toast and some pirate coffee?
Dry, did the rain finally stop? I will look for the movie you mentioned. It is a movie and not a series, right?
I slept late, even after going to bed early. I am such a bum.
Buenos Dias Carmy. Yes you may as that is the breakfast I just made, but eggs weren’t supposed to be scrambled. Our cast iron skillet needed seasoning and my eggs stuck to the bottom. :-(
Cleo, I wanted the poached eggs, but I typed scrambled. I need to season my cast iron skillet too, but I haven’t had a chance to. Are you having nice weather today? We’re a bit cloudy and cool here.
Carmy, I catch glimpses of blue sky that hints of clearing, but then the clouds win out. It is supposed to be nice this afternoon, but that can often mean late afternoon. Our house is situated next to a mountain and in the fall and winter the sun begins to disappear from our yard.
Our A/C is having problems again, of course it always does this on the weekends. It’s a conspiracy!
Anyway, it is nice and cool outside. I wish I had a hammock.
Carmy “As Time Goes By” is a British comedy tv series. It airs on our PBS station here. I know it can be rented on line as well, as I have seen it. It’s a really lovely story, best seen from the beginning, but not necessary to see it from the beginning.
Yes Shika, I borrowed it from the library. The Author is David Grann and once again the title is The Lost City of Z. I am enjoying the book because it takes place both now and back in the early 1900s. It is the time when England was mapping the world and explorers like Stanley and Livingstone and Ernest Shackleton were traveling to unknown parts of the world.
Carmy I don’t want the hour back, that means it will get dark too early, and Dec. and Jan. drag on and on. It stinks when you leave work and it is already dark outside!Depressing, I tell ya’, depressing indeed!
Shika to answer your question from many moons ago, Gracie is Baldo’s book smart, annoying little sister, annoying to him that is. I think she’s pretty cool!
Carmy I have seen the Manson story so many times, I remember when it happened. I was a young teen, and it scared the daylights out of me. Then when I went to Bragg, where Capt. Jeffrey MacDonald had murdered his wife and daughters, claiming a group of hippies, with the same MO as the Manson murders, broke into his house. First off, back then, can you even believe a group of hippies could have entered Fort Bragg without being noticed? A woman I worked with whose husband was one of the investigating officers on the case, brought in pictures of the murder scene. Of course that wasn’t permitted but she did it. You can’t even imagine how horrific that was! Those pictures, well I can’t even describe it! Charles Manson is about as sick as you can get, and how he got his followers to do what they did, is unbelieveable. And then to have an Army Officer mimick that and kill his family! It is frightening how much evil is in this world!
I was still young during the Manson thing, but I do remember, it was really scary.
I also remember the MacDonald murders. My mother had a subscription to a news magazine and I read about it in that.
There is NO way you can get on base without an ID now. Even my girls have their own IDs. Certainly a bunch of hippies wouldn’t have been permitted on the base, even back then.
Now they are showing the Jonestown mass suicide and murders.
Cleo Okay we’ll stop with the maudlin discussion! So what can you tell us that is happy and peppy and full of joy? come on Nekkid Man, tell us a joke or “sumthin”!
I happen to live outside the city that has a tavern that has been visited by so many serial killers you would not believe it. At least five, the ones that I can think of off the top of my head are Ted Bundy, Kenneth Bianchi (the Hillside Strangler, who actually I met), John Muhammed and Malvo, and James Kinney. The place is called the Waterfront Tavern and it is just odd how it has been a drawing card to these murderers. If you google it you will see, bizarre. An old girlfriend of mine was approached by Ted Bundy wearing a cast and asking for help. Fortunately she turned him down.
You met the Hillside Strangler? OMG!!! Care to share the info, here or “elsewhere”?
Interesting story, which came to mind since you mentioned that, when I was a teenager working at a store similar to KMart or a WalMart, I was a cashier. I waited on these 3 guys, they looked kind of “hippish” and they were very polite and nice, (or so I thought) when I checked them out. They left the store, drove down the road a ways and were pulled over by a State Police officer. He arrested them and put them in the back seat of his patrol car to take them into the barracks. One of them had a hand gun hidden, and he shot the officer and killed him. And I had waited on them not an hour before that!
Kenneth Bianchi was a security guard at Fred Meyers. He used to come into the liquor store that I worked in and shoot the breeze. He ended up killing two girls in my community and leaving their bodies in the trunk of a car. Local cops caught the Hillside Strangler.
Funny isn’t it Cleo? Not ha ha funny, but strange, spooky may be a better term, you just never know. Those guys left the store and murdered a State Trooper, and you had conversations with a serial killer.
Good night Carmy. Dry, one never knows anything beyond what someone wants you to know. Look how many people are married to people that are not whom they know. I don’t know if you know of our local serial killer know as The Green River Killer. He murdered prostitutes for years. Probably two decades later they arrest him in Spokane, happily married, with a wife that has no clue.

Depressing indeed is right. The sun was supposed to come out today and it hasn’t. I miss the long days where it doesn’t get dark until close to 10 PM.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member about 14 years ago
Cleo 10 PM? Even in summer 9:30 is tops here, and it’s really dusk but light enough to still see.
