    I thought C4 would burn without exploding, that it took extreme heat AND a shock wave, such as from a detonator, to set it off. Sorry.

    I worked EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) in the U.S. Army and a Sergeant was demonstrating how stable C-4 was by putting a bit on the end of a hammer and striking it on the concrete floor. It exploded and blew the head of the hammer off the handle. It IS stable, but don’t be a fool about how you handle plastic or any kind of explosives.
