I have a cat named Andromeda (whoever was naming cats at the pound had a very good week) but we don’t call her “Romi.” GET OFF OF THERE! when she perches on the hamster cage, yes.
We also have two small Poms. So I figured we’d introduce her safely. I’d hold her and let her look at the dogs from afar. B-i-i-i-g mistake. She sank her fangs into my finger. She was too young to have had her rabies shots, so I did the only sensible thing. Started making a list of people to bite, just in case. A week later, we got another kitty. I tossed this one on the floor and said “survive.” She walked past the dogs as if to say “What are YOU looking at?”
Most Americans like to shorten names to 2 syllables, so Romi makes sense. My own name is 2 syllables and people keep trying to shorten it to one but I refuse to answer to a one syllable name.

Romi was the name of the computer on the TV show Andromeda so that would fit here.
