It’s been a while in the making, and thank you for being patient, but the Ginger Meggs Archives are officially open!
If you would like to go back and read some of the classic strips, and download them in a higher resolution than they appear in their daily format on GoComics/Uclick, feel free to have a wander through the archives.
As detailed on the page, To celebrate the 90th Anniversary in 2011, The Archives will be making available the work of Jimmy Bancks (1921, Creator), Ron Vivian (1953), Lloyd Piper (1973) and James Kemsley (1984).
G’day Jason, Dry, JFri, Barb, Ottod, Frank and all Meggsie’s mates.
I know why people order double cheeseburgers and I know why they order fries (OH! PLEASE! CRINGE! CHIPS in Oz please - why can’t the outlets get it right?) but why they order Coke is beyond me.
What could be more Australian than a kangaroo? If usfellers is to be believed (and I do, implicitly), Ginger is as much an Australian icon as the ‘roo. Ergo, they’re members of a small and exclusive club. Why wouldn’t the kangaroo like him? They probably exchanged secret handshakes.
Told you Canehard would be hopping mad!
It seems to me that if you can credibly describe pommes frites as chips, you may have passed the point of edibility, and it doesn’t matter anyway.
Aussie chips are nice plump potato fingers, those things called fries seem to be hard matter about the thickness and hardness of matches and have sharp edges to cut the mouth. Their one saving grace is that the outlets charge the earth for just a few in a little box, whereas the fish and chip shops give you more than enough chips even for their minimum charge and there is always one left in the folds of the paper they wrap them in.

RE: Graffiti Everybody knows it’s ‘cause the Diet Coke negates all the calories from the burger and fries. That’s my story and I’m stickin to it….
