I have heard of a shot gun formation, but never the slingshot.

The bad thing is, after this comic, now they WILL have to have something about it in the rule book, before some stupid coach decides to be nuts enough to try it.

You’re out of bounds. You just gave them a safety.

Actually, yes there is. The National Federation of High Schools (NFHS) 2016 Football Rules Book states in Rule 9, Section 10, Article 1: “A player or nonplayer or persons not subject to the rules shall not hinder play by an unfair act which has no specific rule coverage.” Also, Article 5 states: “Neither team shall commit any act which, in the opinion of the referee, tends to make a travesty of the game.”

Why do think they built the goal post this way! We’ve been waiting 100 years for them to finally figure it out!

So that slingshot is regulation? Properly inflated?

They might want to try straight back, not at that angle…straight back there is less of a downfall at the end.

The quarterback once wore handles to be thrown over the scrimmage line for short distances. Rather dangerous with minimal pads. There is now a rule regarding “assisting the runner”.

A real “flying wedge”, or in this case, maybe a flying wedgie.

That’s how the forward pass started. Now we have the forward passenger.
