@jmattadams: if you honestly believe that prior presidents took no interest in the so-called details of governance, you clearly haven’t got a clue as to how demanding and tricky it is; however, in Trump’s case, it’s probably a good idea to keep him as far from where the rubber meets the road as possible.
The overwhelmingly important task at hand is to monitor Trump’s toadies and sycophants lest they loot the government, peddle influence til the cows come home, and destroy whatever integrity remains.
The smart money is betting that, over the next four years, indictments and convictions of Trump appointees will exceed those of the Nixon and Reagan administrations COMBINED. I don’t want it to happen, but I will clean up when (not IF, WHEN!) it does.

Step two, declare Hillary Clinton the winner because she has, at last count, over two million more popular votes than dumpster.
Step three, lock up the dumpster for his many crimes.
