G’day Jason, Dry, JFri, Ottod, Meggsiefan, Frank and all Meggsie’s mates.
Right up front, there is something about today’s strip that is unique. There was something along the same lines in the ‘mega’ strip last Sunday week.
Maybe it has been tried before and I have never seen it, but impossible as it may be to converse under water, I had no difficulty in coming to grips with the fact that Ginger and Bennie are actually doing just that. Last Sunday week it was immediately obvious that Ginger was in a dream.
Great communication with comic fans and breaks new ground in comic art in my book.
You can actually speak and be (sort of) understood under water, albeit not easily. The problem is that to speak, you have to expel air, which is never a good thing if you’re under water and don’t have an air supply. Even with air, it’s hard. Divers use a simplified sign language and confuse each other. Hearing-impaired divers just keep on talking and laugh at the others.
