FBI Director James B. Comey and Director of National Intelligence James Clapper have backed a CIA assessment that Russia intervened in the 2016 election in part to help Donald Trump win the presidency, according to U.S. officials.

Comey’s support for the CIA’s conclusion suggests that the leaders of the three agencies are in agreement on Russian intentions, contrary to suggestions by some lawmakers that the FBI disagreed with the CIA.

At least during the cold war there was a lid on China, North Korea, and the Middle-East. Reagan presided over the opening of the worst Pandora’s Box ever designed. Now everybody, and I do mean EVERYBODY has nukes, instead of just the US and Russia. And many of those everybodies are much more willing to push the button, and believe they have much less to lose from an all-out nuclear war than either the US or Russia. If Pakistan or China or North Korea were to launch, do you think Russia would join them or the US? Think real hard on this one, bright boy. Putin knows exactly how many nukes will reach the homeland if we were to actually launch. He also knows what would happen if Pakistan or North Korea were to launch: The missiles would come right over his head and he’d regretfully file a protest after the shooting was over. But HE WOULDN’T PRESS HIS red button.
