I must have been ten or elven when my dad let me stay up on New Years Eve, to watch the ball drop. When it touched down he went over to where he keep a bottle of Chaves Regal, Poured a shot, throw it back, put the bottle away, and said “OK let’s go to bed”. While I did a few parties in HS and College it never was that big a deal to me.

Nicholas had more energy than Mom and Dad. Young ones usually do.

At 73, I don’t usually make it to midnight, either.

I normally stay up past midnight anyway. I like the switch with the kid up and they fall asleep. I was one to stay up late at night at that age.

He actually fell asleep at 9:30 but was woken by Mommy and Daddy’s snoring at 11:30.

I go to bed late and wake up not too early every day.
