GoComics may be in error for December 6-10, 1971. According to the St. Petersburg Times, which can be seen on Google News Archives at

    http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=feST4K8J0scC&dat=19711206&printsec=frontpage

the December 6 strip (on page 53) is as follows:

Mike and Mark walk across campus

    (panel 1)

Mike: Say, Mark, is the congress progressing well?

Mark: Sure! Today we had a very exciting vote!..

    (panel 2)

Mark: The congress was deadlocked on this particular resolution…Then, suddenly a rumor broke that the delegate from Michigan State had been dating the delegate from Vassar. This might have prejudiced Michigan’s vote.

    (panel 3)

Mark: Finally the Vassar delegate broke down and confessed, and both were disqualified. This display so moved the Smith delegate that she in turn switched her vote, and the ayes had it! Wow, talk about excitement!

    (panel 4)

Mike: What were you voting on?

    Mark: I forget..

In the St. Petersburg Times on Google News Archive:

“To the ghetto!” appears on December 7 on page 52

“War is bad” appears on December 8 on page 72

“Kill the moderator!” appears on December 9 (erroneously as on page158 of December 8)

“Willy Leawood” appears on December 10 on page 73
