Adam: Twenty-two...twenty-three... Clayton: What are you doing? Adam: I'm counting the steps from my desk to the pantry and back. I need to get more steps in per day. My job is too sedentary. Clayton: And your healthy solution is more trips to the food closet? Adam: It's a reward system. Clayton: It's a flawed plan. Adam: What about the fridge? It's four steps farther. Clayton: Now you're talkin'. No pain, no gain. Pops.

If all those steps were to the coffee pot and back it might make a difference
Add in a number of steps to the bathroom to get rid of all that coffee and we’re talking a real difference

With the number of trips he’ll make to the fridge those 4 steps will add up to hundreds maybe thousands.

Problem with his reward system, is that he’ll consume more calories than he burns through the extra walking. Because I doubt he’s going to be eating celery.
