    Morning, Anniephans!

Annie is in a horrible position here. She has no past, and a very questionable future and is being dominated by a very deranged alpha male!

COSTUMED CRIMEFIGHTERS ACADEMY – Online (for the duration of the emergency) Review Lesson #8: Beginning Training. At first glance, our applicant may appear to have served in the U.S. Marine Corps; the reality is more likely, he has seen movies/TV shows about the Corps, and is imitating drill sergeants from those sources, rather than real ones. (Since, with a child in hand, it is not wise to imitate foul-mouthed Gunnery Sgt. Hartman from_Full Metal Jacket_, this may be more a tip of the hat to Frank Sutton’s Sgt. Vince Carter from Gomer Pyle, USMC.) While it is true than the role of the basic training drill sergeant in any branch of the service is to break a recruit down and re-make him or her into what the service requires, we must remember that our aspiring hero’s charge has come to him under slightly less than “voluntary” circumstances, making his tactics appear more on the order of trying to initiate Stockholm Syndrome than legitimate training. (BTW, in yesterday’s lesson, we forgot the word “tunic” as a somewhat dated, but more acceptable term for “costume.” Our bad.)
