COSTUMED CRIMEFIGHTERS ACADEMY – Online (for the duration of the emergency)Review Lesson #42: Conveniences (cont.). We first encountered The Phantom Commando in 2004; unless you were in a rural setting (or possibly a tenament in New York City), very few people hung their laundry out to dry in those days. This is one of those Fortes Fortuna Adiuvat (“Fortune Favors the Bold”) moments our students are trained to look out for (see yesterday’s lesson). As for our Class of ‘24 graduate’s assesment that this is thievery – technically, perhaps. However, if she were to ask the kid whose clothing she is putting to use, she might find that he or she didn’t care much for them in the first place and is glad to be rid of them, hoping to find something more in keeping with the styles of the day. I mean, the cap is drying on the line, for cryin’ out loud – who washes a cap? There were shoes likely nearby drying out as well, thus relieving her of the need to use the tactics her would-be mentor employed that got the Chief of Police’s suspicions aroused. (And even though this was a black-and-white shot from our satellite, how much do you want to bet that either the t-shirt or the flannel shirt she’s wearing over it are red – her signature professional attire – in color?)

Morning, Anniephans!
Kudos to Unca, who pointed out that Annie has never stolen anything, much less clothes off a clothesline. I have CLOA also and you were right, Unca!
