COSTUMED CRIMEFIGHTERS ACADEMY – Online (for the duration of the emergency) Review Lesson #47: Choosing Your Confidants… Carefully. It must be said at the outset that the job of a social worker is never easy, sometimes dangerous, can be emotionally draining… and is (unfortunately) quite necessary. That being said, if the agent who first visited our Class of ‘24 graduate was any indication of the rest of the crew, then we can see why she chose to bolt and run – and why the police chief is apparently trying to shield her. Playing the “dumb hick country boy cop” angle might actually be working to the town’s advantage; once the social workers find out who she really is – and who her “Daddy” is – there’ll be no end of trouble for their department and possibly the town in general. Even though he never actually met the kid (her being unconscious at the time), he is smart enough to recognize her skills and has taken that into his unofficial confidence. Meanwhile, it’s obvious that the kid has dealt with earlier versions of their types before, and wants nothing to do with them. We now turn to her immediate situation – on a train bound for unknown destinations, no food, no water and perhaps still dealing with lingering effects of the concussion she sustained in the motorcycle crash. We will continue to monitor…

Earlier, the position of the freight was given as south of the chief’s location. Now, it appears to be traveling east or west, given the rising sun’s position in the panel.

Very classic Annie attitude. Olde strip did not quibble with social services being more dangerous to a kid than the open road. Orphanage episodes worse than spy ring kidnap. Save one, save one…underfunded loving person sneaking around the rules as much as common sense, and on-the-take supervisors would allow.

This is at least the third time they ran this story. She ends up in a desert in the southwest, and finds herself at a ranch where a radio show is broadcast.
