The world's first UFO landing pad was constructed in St. Paul, Alberta, Canada, in 1967! The Pittsburgh Penguins ice hockey team made TV celebrity Mister Rogers an honorary captain in 1991! No practice today! On March 1, 1950, a choir practice in a church in Beatrice, Nebraska, was to begin at 7:20 PM, but all 15 members relate, the church exploded at 7;25 but due to tardiness, no one was injured.

So the Nebraska branch of the KKK must have been very disappointed.

The Canadian UFO landing pad is still awaiting its first visit for the last 50 years I presume.

No one died in the explosion? Are you sure about that? I heard otherwise.

This link will take you to the Snopes.com story on the explosion….

But to summarise: Yes, all 15 people were late…. there were a few groups of two or three who were late together for the same reason, ie, a mother and daughter stopped to iron a dress….
…. but the rest was all coincidental.
And nobody said the church was blown up…
the furnace or its gas lines exploded, after the pastor lit it, to warm the church for choir practice, and went home to get ready.

At least the landing pad is far away from the US, I believe that Canada would genuinely welcome the visitors and not try to dissect them and make weapons out of their technology.

“That looks suspiciously like a helicopter landing pad.”
“What’s a helicopter?”
“Ohhhh…”
☺

I remember Paul Harvey telling that story about the church explosion several times. Once, it was even “The Rest of the Story.”

First UFO landing pads in 1967? Believe it or not but von Däniken’s archeological searches date the first alien spaceport at around 2000 years before then, as evidenced by the Nazca lines up in the Peruvian Andes. These in turn were almost certainly predated by the Pyramids, but while the control towers remain, nothing is left of the landing platforms or strips.
