Did you say snow? On December 20, 2016, the Sahara Desert experienced snow for the first time in 37 years! When asked if Honest Abe had any hobbies, Mary Todd Lincoln said, cats. Pocahontas and William Shakespeare died less than a year apart less than 150 miles away from each other!

Continue to rest in peace, William and Pocahontas, after respectively 400 and 401 years. (Would a modern-day Abraham Lincoln like the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical “Cats”?) (How much snow did the Sahara get those few months ago?)

Did he grow the beard to cover up the scratches?

They are both mentioned in the song “Fever” (well, not Shakespeare directly, but “Romeo and Juliet”). By the way, Pocahontas and John Smith never had a “mad affair.” Pocahontas married John Rolfe.

So what exactly does Pocahontas have in common with William Shakespeare, other than they both died in England?

Bill and Poca were secret lovers.

@Templo—Abraham probably would have LOVED “Cats”. One play he didn’t enjoy was “Our American Cousin”!

I think that was misquote. I think Mrs. Lincoln answered, “Pussy.” People wrongly assumed the implication of cats.

Humans are hobbies for cats.

Poca died of cholera. Had she not traveled to England she would have lived longer.
