Rover: (Ahem) You gonna finish your cereal?!
Red: I never ask if you're gonna finish your food.
Rover: That's true, you don't. But that's only because you're good at sharing and I'm not.
I use the same argument on Macushla. “I don’t beg for your food so you shouldn’t beg for mine.” Her argument is that my food is better than hers.
We had a hard and fast rule of thumb. Always put the dog’s food down just before we started to eat. That gave us at least 2-3 minutes of peaceful dining.(But boy did the dog learn to eat fast!)

As Rover said in an old strip…he has his dad’s sad puppy eyes (or his mom’s)

This is why I always feed my fur crew first…and then they gaze longingly at my supper!

I have the same problem one of my cats. He loves almond milk with berries. (and I do give into him after I finish most of it.)

My Gracie just sits in front of me staring because she knows I will eventually give her a bite. Guess she’s got me trained, haha.
