I think [part of] the reason he got elected is that a vast majority of people are disgusted with Washington’s “business as usual” attitude. Being a non-politician outsider, Trump represented a possibility that no other candidate brought to the table. For better or worse people would sooner shave with a chainsaw than look at a career politician.

Reading several of the comments above, I am wondering just what it is that defines a “conservative”? What general principles do you guys hold and how do you expect them to impact on you and your fellow citizens? For instance, I know you all seem very concerned about immigration, but what is the general principle that underlies your concern? What is the moral basis for your concern?

One day, they may realize he has no real concerns except himself. His family and businesses? Extensions of himself. America? A profit center already being fleeced for his benefit.

I can’t be sure what he is but you can’t pigeonhole him as belonging to any particular party. He relishes in demonizing the Republicans every bit as much as the Democrats. I guess maybe he figured the GOP would be dumb enough to give him their party’s nomination. Go figure

I’m sick of clowns like McConnell, Boehner, McCain, Graham and others who are more interested in sucking up to the left.
