Man: My car is running rough. I think it needs new points and new distributor, or maybe a carburetor. Man: Sire, there are no points, distributor or carburetor in your car. They've been gone for years. Man: Well, no wonder it's not running right.
hahahahahaha..I took my uncle’s Ford Econoline with"3 on the tree", to a garage for work.. and the kid,at the garage, didn’t know how to drive the damn thing.The old timers were laughing at him big time!!!!
Even if you want to change the plugs, can’t get to them. I used to change my own oil until the EPA stopped me from pouring the old oil on fence posts (wood preservative we said). Open the hood, and can’t even find the dip stick now.
I had an idiot light come on. Took it to get fixed. They did so by using a computer to read the codes, found a leak in a gasket in the throttle body, and then forced injected some smoke into the system to see where the leak was coming from!

old… aka pre 1975…transistorized distributor came out in 1967. good by points.fuel injection in a Chevy in 1957…….

I have an ‘87 Ford Ranger and an ’88 Chevy Nova !! (although there’s been a few times parts for the Nova couldn’t be found)
