Or, you know, not. Given that Kaepernick has been doing a huge amount of charitable work, one has to wonder who the Fan Jerks of the Year were who thought he was some sort of jerk for pointing out the severe problem with racism we have in this country.
It’s precious how so many people like to blame the person pointing out the problem.
I don’t see an issue. The man made his point, publicly and repeatedly. How long should he then continue his protest? Until racism is solved? To whose standards? Lets move on.
It’s good to keep pointing out the problem, and the more facets of life where that is done then the more people are aware, and hopefully motivated to do something about it – i.e. treat all people fairly and equally
It seemed arbitrary to me whether he sat or knelt (or stood). It also seems arbitrary to play the national anthem before sporting events. Doesn’t THAT kind of lose its meaning, when it is done from mere habit?
He’s free to do what he wants, but he may loss his platform for his speech if he doesn’t step up his game. The last few years he has just been mediocre. Hopefully the 49’s won’t just keep him because they are San Francisco’s team.
