One thing you must remember with any protective breed, Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, Dobies, German Shepherds, is what they are totally capable of. They have to be kept on a leash and well trained. We had two Shepherds over the years and they were always on a leash and walked +3 times a day. Idiots who let their dogs run free or throw them into a backyard should not have a dog.
