My biggest pet peeve about Fox Trot is that it keeps making jokes about how fat the Dad is, and sometimes about how fat Peter is, and neither character is drawn fat, they both look very slim.
@mewkav The jokes about Peter aren’t that he’s fat; it’s that he eats ridiculous amounts. Teenage boys often do that, while they stay thin (I sure did). And the Dad, when he’s not drawn wearing something bulky, does have a pronounced bowling bowl sized beer belly. And the Mom is a real health nut; there are also lots of jokes about her being one, especially about trying to feed the family inedible “healthy” food. So she would get on Dad even if he’s pretty average. In context, it’s more realistic than unfair.
Though it does feature the required amount of making Dad look foolish in ways it would never do to Mom. (Required for political correctness, I suppose.)

It’s good to only do that for one day, not every day

If I did had a son, I wouldn’t want him to think I drink beer. Mainly because no one in our family drinks (thank you, Jesus).
